A PEP is a third-party validated (Type III) document that adheres to ISO 14025 standards. It offers transparent, comparable, and reliable environmental data at the product level. Specifically, it provides information on aspects like the carbon footprint (measured in CO2 equivalents) based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) calculation according to ISO 140401. The LCA method evaluates a product’s environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle, including raw material extraction, production, use, and disposal. It considers factors such as energy consumption, emissions, and resource usage.
